ANNOUNCEMENT: DisasterTheory Talks About The Loss Of Bassist Derrick Everhart
DisasterTheory has completed their second album and an official music video for the track “Enemy In Me” from their second album Destination Nowhere.
Something you will see in the music video for Enemy In Me, is bassist Derrick Everhart. What you may not notice in the video, during Derrick’s performance, is the pain Everhart was in throughout the shoot.
The pain Everhart is suffering through is caused by a medical issue that is affecting his shoulder and causing pain severe enough that it makes it impossible for him to perform without pain. He chose to finish the music video to not let fans down.
Shortly after the completion of the music video shoot, Everhart opted to dismiss himself from DisasterTheory to focus on his shoulder and health.
Frontman Mark Thomas said “I’ve known him for a very long time. We were part of the music scene together back in the day and Derrick was all about the music. Derrick’s health is more important at this time. We want to see our brother healthy and feeling well. It’s going to be different without him there but we want him to heal. It’s too early to say whether or not he will be able to come back but that will be up to him and his body healing.”
“Well, derrick has been one of my closest friends since we we're kids. We played in Chain the Scylla together, almost every serious music project I've ever been involved with has included Derrick. If he doesn't think he can continue until his health improves, I completely understand his decision and I respect him for making the choices he's made. I hope his health improves and he can resume doing what he loves.” said drummer Justin Farrier
In the meantime, DisasterTheory will continue to make music and plan show dates while they seek to replace Everhart, even if temporarily.
