Nu-Metal Band DisasterTheory Announces New Album
Pennsylvania , United States - Bringing back a nu-metal style we've grown to love, the nu-metal band DisasterTheory has been hard at work on their new album "Destination Nowhere" for almost a year and a half. In spite of a pandemic that caused delays in writing, recording and rehearsals, the band found a way to make it work. Now they have announced a release date for the album.
Frontman Mark Thomas says "Destination Nowhere has taken a while to complete because of COVID-19 issues, but we have finally wrapped it up and it will be released on February 11, 2022."
The band says they've written over 80 songs for the album and then had to narrow it down to 13 tracks. "It's never fun being locked down with everything closed, not being able to interact with others, your bandmates and your friends. So what we did was write. We wrote continuously. No idea was off limits. We ended up with something like 86 songs total. We then had the task of choosing which songs we actually wanted to use, which we thought were good enough and were consistent in sound." Thomas said.
Mark Thomas, known for being fairly outspoken on many taboo topics and current events, says that the songs on the album tackle some personal as well as topical issues. "We aren't going to make everyone happy, but truthfully is that ever the case for anyone or anything? Sometimes you hear songs from artists that are clearly trying to appeal to the safe side of a topic and they abandon what and who they are in the process. It's very difficult for me to do that when I write. If you're not writing from your heart and from where you actually stand, you will ultimately lack that emotion in the words you're saying. Fans aren't stupid. They can hear when you mean what you say."
The band says that one of the major hurdles in writing and recording the album was that it was mostly done remotely, because of suggested COVID-19 restrictions. "We used a lot of text messaging, email, messaging services and cloud storage in the process. It was definitely a learning curve and was interesting in its own way."
The album "Destination Nowhere" will be released on all major streaming platforms, as well as CD on February 11, 2022. The band has made pre-orders available on their official website www.disastertheory.com however.
