DisasterTheory Teams Up with Within The Woods

While DisasterTheory is still very much hard at work on their second album release, they decided to collaborate with and feature guitarist Mike Topolnisky from the band Within The Woods.

Topolnisky is featured on two tracks from DisasterTheory’s upcoming album Destination Nowhere; “This Time” and a metal cover of the Christina Aguilera hit “Genie In A Bottle.”

DisasterTheory frontman Mark Thomas learned of the band Within The Woods on the social media platform Instagram and was quickly impressed by the skill Topolnisky showed in the band’s songs. It wasn’t long before Thomas and Topolnisky began discussing some collaboration opportunities.

“After some discussion, Mike basically offered to do some lead parts for some DisasterTheory songs and even though we didn’t have many opportunities for that at the time, we didn’t want to pass up the chance to feature him in some of our tracks. The dude is talented.” said Thomas.

DisasterTheory handed Topolnisky their cover of Genie In A Bottle to work on first. Thomas said “He did an amazing job on that track. When you hear it, we think you’ll be blown away.” After a while, the guys in DisasterTheory had another track for Topolnisky to try his hand at. The song This Time was a song Thomas wrote while in a previous band. The song has been re-recorded and updated with new lyrics, a new chorus and now a brand new guitar solo thanks to Topolnisky.

You will get a chance to hear both of these tracks when the album Destination Nowhere is released. While DisasterTheory has not set a date for release, they say that COVID-19 has played a very massive role in the delay of the album, but they have said that it will be much more hard hitting than the last, as they’ve had time to put a lot into it.
