COVID-19 UPDATES
DisasterTheory has created this section of our website to keep all of our fans up to date on any affects the COVID-19 virus may have on the band, merchandise, music releases and our interaction with fans.
We Are Living In Unprecedented Times
No matter what you may feel about COVID-19 or the social aspects of the state of our world today, there is absolutely no doubt that the world is living in and experiencing unprecedented events with what seems like a domino effect on almost every aspect of life. Our livelihoods have been turned upside down and our streets are becoming more and more dangerous. Many are afraid of contracting a virus and others are in fear of physical violence. So we want to make sure that our fans, as well as our teams and crew are safe.
The events of the world has had an effect on the way DisasterTheory communicates and works with each other as a band and has an effect on our upcoming album and DT merchandise.
So we will be keeping this section of the website updated with changes and updates so that we can keep you better informed.
The MUSIC & New ALbum
As a band of musicians, the process of creating music is typically one that requires us to get together and write as a team. We will admit that the opinions of each band member is split with regards to the COVID-19 virus. While some of us aren’t concerned, some of us are. As a band, and more importantly as friends, our stance is to respect one another’s beliefs and opinions and to react on the side of caution for those that are concerned.
This has caused us to change the way we would normally do things. However, this has also caused the process to take a bit longer than it normally would and somewhat eliminates the ability for us to know a release date with 100% certainty.
WHAT WE’VE BEEN DOING
We have been making use of private social media channels (such as messengers and group chats), as well as email to write new music.
We have been sending tracks and ideas back and forth between band members using the above mentioned methods.
When everyone is on the same page on each song, we have all tracks centralized to one studio for mixing, mastering and tagging.
As restrictions have been easing up, we have also been getting together with weekly rehearsals.
We hope to have everything wrapped up soon and get the new music out to all of you as soon as we can.
MERCHANDISE
UPDATE JULY 30, 2020
Many of our t-shirts are now available again.
—————————————————————————————————
As you may or may not know, the main source of income for any band are concert ticket sales and merchandise. These are also the best way for fans to show their love and support of their favorite bands and artists. Unfortunately, the state of the social environment today prohibits some of this activity. So we have relied on merch sales and physical CD sales as other bands and artists have done through these times.
A few weeks ago however, the supply chain for our merch (apparel) has temporarily ceased as they catch up on ours and other artist’s merchandise orders. This is due to our suppliers working with a smaller staff to ensure their employees’ safety.
What this means is that we have had to put all of our merchandise on back order in our official store. It means that our fans will NOT be able to order merch from us at this time. However our supply chain has assured us that things will go back to normal as they begin getting caught up and/or as they are permitted to allow more employees in their facilities.
What this has also done is create a delay in the delivery of some of the orders that have already been placed.
While we know this is inconvenient and frustrating, please know that we have a very tight system in place of keeping track of every order and none will fall through the cracks.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. However, as we have been assured that this is all temporary, we can relay that assurance to all of you.
in the meantime
During this time, we graciously ask that you show your love and support for DisasterTheory (and all of your favorite bands and artists), by using other methods of support such as Spotify streaming, iTunes, following or liking on social media and interacting and engaging so that we know you’re still out there.
If you’re not sure how to reach us on any specific platform, send us a message and we will get you the information quickly.
As stated, we will keep this page updated as things change and as we make progress on any of these areas of our activity.
Thank You
DisasterTheory
